Chapter One

I feel the chains at my wrists, cold and hard, like the hearts of the knights holding my arms to my back and leading me down a dim lighted hall. My breath is stiff, my back, sore. I stop for a fit of coughing, nad the knight kicks my legs, and i fall. the guards snicker, and hauls me to my feet. I stare at the ground, my red eyes not leaving the tiles. i hear some of the maids gasp and a few people stumbling at the sight of me, but i do not look up. i hear large mahogany doors opening. I peer and see that we are in a nother hall way.

"Sir-" i begin to say.

"No talking." the guard inturupts.

To prove his point, my mouth is bound with a leather strip. We have stopped at a door. A guard walks in and waits inside. Another keeps me held down. I hear talking. my pointed ears swivle to listen.

"...no such threat!"

"That is what your opinion might be, but i have proof."

"Of course your Magestey."

There is a silence and the guard comes. I am shoved into the burly man and pushed through the door. I hear a faint gasping, and a chuckle.

"It is just a girl! A Teledor girl! She is no different from the slaves we buy from Strenthopinta! In fact, we can use her as one of your daughters servants!" a man calls out.

The King stands up, and circles around me. my eyes shift to follow him. I examine his fine clothing. A long violet robe with golden coloured threads. An indigo shoulder fabric, my favourite colour. I love indigo because it is the same colour as my skin. Teh King has a tall golden crown upon his chesnut hair and a bushy beard. His eyes are serious, yet thoughtful and merciless. I feel his cold hand at my chin. He examines my face. My tail swings dangerously.

"Yes, she seems able enough....Summon my daughters."

A man scurries from the room and into the hall. The King smiles at him, then scowles at me.

"Unchain her." he commands.

the guard looks startled.

"But your Majesty! She will try to escape!"

The King smiles. "Exactly!"

The knight obeys his order, i see the Kings hand at his side, fingering something. I feel the chains uncut from my wrists. I stand for a momment, gloating my victory, and jump away. I feel pain in my back and feel warm blood trickle down.  I fall. The jury applauds and laughs.

"I am your master from nnow on. you belong to my daughters. You will follow their every command. DO you understand?"

I stand woozily, and though i know i will not make it, i try to escape once more. I feel the beating once more, and i fall. The laughter is more than i can bear.

"I said, DO YOU UNDERSTAND?!"

I do not move. I hear the doors open and the sound of high topped shoes against the floor. I hear a high girlish voice, and then another.

"Oh Daddy! What is this?"

"Can i have it? I'm older?"

I growl slightly but know one heres me. The King calms them down and they sit inthe thrones next to their father, smiling smuggly. The knight raps my foot.

"Get up." He orders.

I stand.

"Dafine, Zetha, this is your new slave. She will attend to your every need." the King said.

I see the older one huff, and cross her arms over her magenta dress.

"Why can't i just have it? I'm older!"

The King looks troubled.

"You will share it. Now, run along."

I watch as the two girls scamper from the room. The rope is tied to my wrists and i am lead away to meet my future and my fate.
