Lost Universe

Lost Universe

A Poem by AnneElizabeth

High skies,

drunk clouds.

don’t let me in to let me out.

Dear nightingale

Do you fly high?

From time to time

I wonder why, I wonder so

and if I ask need I not know?

To be worth the worth

No-

it’s never so

even if truth be truth

there will still be lies that we will hide

intertwined forevermore.

Dear nightingale

Don’t fake your face

For forcing what can not be causes breaks.

And broken pieces will re-break

and break

and break

till you’re lost inside a self inflicted fate.

Dear nightingale
I see you fly

And how I desire to fly beside

But for tonight I will let you go

Oh how cold, the darkness grows

and I’ll miss the wings that held me close.

Dear nightingale

how far we have flown

to coexist

alone.

I love poems that take us away to other worlds and show us a place outside of our own. Every line draws into the next one so nicely. Great work.
