The Shadow StealerA Poem by Rosezelene Ersaa silly little poem about a childhood dream. One day the shadow stealer Who lives next to me Took the shadow of a pine And put it in mine. Ever since I have smelled like a tree And let me tell you, That is a hard scent to explain. My brother calls me The “tree hugger” Even though I don’t think trees Are very nice to Hug, And the shadow stealer Laughs when She sees me walk By. It’s all her fault, I tell you, That I smell like a pine- For once she pinches a shadow she slips it into mine. © 2014 Rosezelene ErsaReviews
