Identity

Identity

A Poem by Rosezelene Ersa
"

just a brief poem about my view on identity, and how problems interlude with everyday life. more symbolism than anything else.

"

Alone yet together in a realm of harsh realism,

My soul, my life, juts out.

An ice pillar surrounded by flames, growing up, up, up!

Brushing the sky, alone yet together,

Fingertips relishing light,

My crystal of ice shoots skywards.

At last- all are together.

The light flows free,

Scattering thoughts like rainbows,

The dark clouds have passed!

Alone yet together,

The sun comes out!

Come forth!

God given rain,

Dampen this inferno licking at my sides.

And manna, bread of heaven,

Come down, teach, and throw all else out, out, out!

Alone yet together,

Fording this river of life,

Reaching, forever, for the sky.

Exhilarating!
(I like the font choice)
It would be time consuming to list my favorites about this piece, so I'll settle for my favorite favorites. I like the feeling of striving, of pushing past the inferno, and reaching upward. I like "dampen this inferno" and "God given rain" and "juts" and "scattering thoughts like rainbows" and "fingertips relishing light".
