The Beach.

I was bored.....

She presses her feet deep in the sand.
Her eyes scan the shoreline.
No signs of humans or land animals.
She gazes out to sea.
She walks towards it.
After dipping a toe into the icy blue water, she walks further in.
The water is lapping up against her chest.
She has to be fully submerged before the magic happens.
She walks further in.
The water is now up to her chin.
She now dips her head under the water.
She swims further and further out to sea.
Her legs join together and a shining blue mermaid tail is fixed around them.
She swims up to the surface and gazes out at the human land.
There is now a little girl on the shoreline.
She spots the mermaid.
She squeals.
"Mummy, Mummy!!!"
The mermaid dives under the water.
She swims past schools of brightly coloured fish and beautifully coloured coral.
She is now swimming face up and looking at the water.
She smiles.
But not for long.
She spots a boat coming across the surface.
She starts swimming away, but it's difficult to do so.
The boat stops.
She hears a plunge.
Her heart sinks.
Humans.
She starts swimming away faster and faster, but the humans see her and go closer and closer.
She swims further away and reaches the place where all the mermaids live.
She struggles with the entrance opener.
The humans raise up their cameras and a big flash blinds her eyes.
She sees a shark lurking behind the humans.
She smiles and points to the shark.
The humans slowly turn around and see the shark.
She could swear she heard screaming.
She goes inside the entrance.
Her mother is there waiting.
"Welcome Home Lola." She says with a smile.
Lola smiles back.
