Second Kaida

I lay there on my in the purple grass. Something is wrong with me, I must be going crazy. This place is so weird, everything is just simply wrong. Zee and Blaine can not see what I see. I see three suns in the sky as I lay on the ground trying to dry off. The three suns are all different. One is bright yellow, one is ocean blue and one is fire red. I could look at them all directly without hurting my eyes. The colors to everything is wrong. The water is pitch black, the leaves on trees are pink, the grass is purple, the sky is a grassy green color, and there are fuchsia bugs crawling around. I left as if someone had placed me in a Dr. Seuss book. Blaine and Zee are sitting a bit away from me giving me my space.

I look over at the blond girl who is staring dead at me. I looked away as soon as my eyes met her's but she just keeps staring. In my peripheral vision I see her stand up and walk up next to me. Look over at her as she plops down next to me. Her clothes were mostly burnt off, it made me uncomfortable. I realized that my clothes were also burnt all over, I curled up in a ball, trying to hide myself.

"Are you not going to thank me?" She says loudly to me. I look at her confused. Zee and Blaine look over. I just look at her. "I transported us here. I am the only reason we are all alive." I roll my eyes at her, I believe her but if it weren't for Zee and me carrying her away from the fire she would be dead. "So I am demanding a thank you mute girl."

"She's not-"

"I'm not-" Zee and I speak at the same time. I glare at him, I do not need him to defend me. "I am not mute." The girl laughs at me.

"Oh, I know I just wanted to get a rise out of you. So! Where is my thank you?" I glare at her. This girl is a special kind of arrogant. I just shake my head at her.

"Thank you." Blaine says softly. The girl lights up.

"Well you are very welcome." She cracks up laughing. " Now get on your knees and bow you peasant!" She starts laughing harder.

"Shut up! I saved your life blondie. We are even. Leave Blaine alone, he was just being nice!"

Zee yells at her. She looks enraged.

" My name is not blonde it is Kaisha!" She starts rubbing her temple. " I have no energy left from teleporting you all here. Everyone just needs to shut their mouth's" I lay back down and roll away from them and close my eyes to think. 

What was she on the bus for? She could be a murderer, but so are Zee and Blaine. I look around again at the crazy colored world around me. I slowly fall asleep watching bugs walk in a line into a hole, but I am quickly woken up by Zee.

"Will you be okay without us if we go look for some fire wood before it gets dark?" Zee says to me with a soft voice. Why was he all of a sudden not being a jerk anymore? I roll my eyes.

" I can take care of myself." I say to him with hatred in my voice. His eyes looks so sad and then I start to feel bad for how I have been acting. He nods at me and walks in the woods with Blaine. I close my eyes to go back to sleep and Kaisha taps on my shoulder. I sigh and open up my eyes.

"I am sorry," shock must have covered my face because she smiles at me, "For calling you a mute. I am rude. I do not have friends. I do not know how to act socially. What is your name?" She makes no sense, she must be bipolar or something. I kind of just stare at her.

"Is it Kaida? Right?" I look at her a little scared and nod. "That is strange. My name is Kaisha. How similar is that? Almost too coincidental!" I did not say anything so she keeps going. "So I am 17. How old are you? Oh, wait let me guess! Um..thirteen? Wait. No, fifteen!" I nod again. Fifteen and an accomplice to a murder. I wish I was normal. "Wow! That is so young! I was on the bus because well...." She starts laughing. " I kidnapped a boy because I was bored. He was really good at dancing." I stare at her and burst out laughing. She is completely insane. "What?" She is starting to get angry at me. I could not stop laughing at her.

All of a sudden I am floating in the air. I scream.

"Not so funny now. See how powerful I am?" Kaisha says to me. She drops me to the ground and the wind gets knocked out of me.I lay there gasping for air. Once I can breath again I crawl away from her and lay on my side facing away from her. I turn around and face her again thinking better of not watching her. I stare at her as she walks over to the black water and drinks it. I gag.

"What is something wrong?" She starts laughing and splashing the water at me. I cringe away from it. "You can turn it off you know." She turns around and black water drips out of her mouth.

"What? Do you mean you can see it too?" I ask her. She seems intrigued that I spoke.

"Well of course! All you have to do is close your eyes and imagine the world as you know it and when you open them everything will be normal." I close my eyes and picture it. I picture watching the sunrise over the mountains with the pale blue sky and bright orange sun. I open my eyes and as she said, everything was back to normal.

"Now time to fix our clothes." She starts fidgeting with her clothes. She bunches up her shirt to cover the holes and ties it under her breast so her whole torso is showing. She takes off  her pants and she is only in her underwear. I turn away. She rips her pants into shorts and puts them back on. She walks over to me. "Stand up. I can tell you don't like showing skin but those holes are showing more than your mid section." I reluctantly stand up. She pushes my arms up and ties up my shirt and then rips off the bottoms of my jeans without taking them off. I was very thankful.

I turn around as I hear Zee and Blaine talking. Zee, Blaine, and a third boy walks out behind them. The new guy checks me out. I blush and sit down and bring my knees to my chest. It must have looked like I fell because Zee rushes over to me.

"Are you ok?" He asks me, looking me over. He is annoying me. Why all of a sudden he is my knight in shining armor?

"She is fine." The new guy says. Zee glares at him and stands up. Kaisha snaps her fingers and the wood disappears out of the boys' arms and turns into a burning fire on the ground. Then a blanket appears around my shoulders and Kaisha smiles at me. We all sit around the fire and I pull the blanket close around me as the sun sets.

"You are probably wondering who I am." The new boy speaks. "I am Josh. I came from a village full of people just like us. People magically appear in the woods all the time. So I am sent out once a week to look for anyone. Usually it is only one person not four, though." Josh's eyes were all over Kaisha silently praising her. "Everyone in the village has special powers like you guys."

"A village?" Kaisha asks. Josh nods. "By any chance does this village have huts with people's names on them and when those people appear they have a hut with their name on it?" Josh looks confused.

"How did you know that?" Josh asks her quizzically as he stares at her with squinted eyes. Kaisha bursts into laughter as she claps her hands together with glee. Her smile stretches to her ears, she is insanely happy. We all stare at Kaisha until she is calmed down, waiting for an explanation.

"Oh, Daddy I hope you didn't do this on purpose! Josh, I need to go there now." Kaisha says changing from a giddy little girl to a stone faced person. I am tired and sore, I am not hiking to that village. I glare at Josh, hoping he understood I did not want to leave. Josh is tapping his foot, staring at the ground concentrating as if he is listening to something. He scratches his chin and raises his head, looking at Kaisha he says,

"I think everyone here needs a rest. Why not sleep tonight and I will take you first thing in the morning. Promise. Are you guys hungry? I have extra jerky in my bag and some oranges." Josh pulls his brown messenger bag in front of himself and starts digging through it. Kaisha giggles and Josh looks up at her with a funny look.

"What?" I ask her.

"He is the mind reader, the only mind reader." Kaisha points her head towards him. "Are you not Josh?" Kaisha asks him with a bright smile. Josh glares at her and stands up pointing a finger at her.

"Who are you?" Josh growls through a clenched jaw. "And why can't I read your mind?" Josh's anger only makes Kaisha laugh.

"Now, now. Don't get all feisty. I have far more important things to do than hurt, so do not worry about me." She says waving at hand at him. She snaps her fingers and a pile of sleeping bags appear next to her. Zee and Blaine are dumbfounded. I am also but I am slowly excepting all of the craziness. I then realize that this boy could be penetrating my thoughts. Kaisha grabs a sleeping bag, rolls it out and crawls into it. 

"Can you really read minds, man?" Blaine asks Josh as he jumps up and runs over to him. "Tell me what I am thinking!" Josh gives him a funny look.

"Uhm...you are thinking about eating my extra food." Josh says. Blaine's eyes light up. I get up and grab a sleeping bag, dragging it towards the fire I roll it out. I crawl in it and fall fast asleep.

I wake up and roll on my back. I stare up at the sky.

"You don't have to worry. I won't kill you in your sleep or anything." Josh says making me sit straight up and look for where he is. He is sitting by the fire, across from me. "You should get some sleep." I notice Zee is sleeping right next to me, only inches away. I groan and scoot myself away from him.

"If you could read my mind you would have known that is not what I am thinking at all." I say to him as I re-adjust my sleeping bag. He smiles at me.

"I don't like to read people's unless I have too." Josh says to me as he pokes at the fire with a stick."But I would not cross me, I can read your thoughts, even if you are not directly thinking them." He furrows his brows and smiles at me. I couldn't tell if he was flirting or just being friendly. I do not know what to say, so I kind of just stare at the fire. I am not going to be able to fall asleep now, I am wide awake. Josh sighs and stands up. He walks towards me and I avoid eye contact with him. He bends over and cups my face with his hands, I instantly jerk my face away and scramble to my feet.

"Excuse me, but I just met you, so do not invade my personal space." I say to him flabbergasted. He ignores me and grabs my face again, only tighter so I cannot pull away easily. I suddenly feel sleepy, I feel myself drifting. I loose my balance and fall into Josh's arms and fall asleep.
