Necrosis

A Poem by Recherche
"

Necrosis,my latest work consisting currently of LV poems ( in progress).Necrosis is about waxing and waning from a Childhood's hour through Secenscent's view in terms of hypochondria, anxiety, angst

"

   Necrosis XXV

And now upon this eerie hour

As death and I oppugn,

Ruminating Prior's birth

I splore, exult, aswoon!

And oh, thru Sorrow's lucidness

I frayed, I fell, I failed;

Every single other day

Left me weaker- frail.

But ah, I forged along undaunted

Onward thus, to rend the thrall,

That held me captive- unbegotten

Death- the inescapable fall.

This, and your other works, have a very Hart Crane meets Poe feel to it. I like its compact scheme and unusual diction "oppugn/aswoon/splore..."

It's enough to tilt the reader just a bit and enthrall them in a surreal vision.

(one thing though. Did you mean "forged" or "foraged"? Either work, just curious)

This almost feels like an ode to death or petite mort.

It's always a little hard to survey only 1 part of a whole series, but this is a good exploration on death/pangs and perhaps a little keatsian swooning into death.
