Behind Her Green Eyes

Behind Her Green Eyes

Behind Her Green Eyes

Over and over you predicted the end.
Imagine the message he would send.
"It's not you, it's me"
Said to the girl he thought wifey-to-be.

Worse to worse, then comes rain.
He gives you an umbrella, but that furthers the pain.
You find yourself thinking how mature you two are.
Others have taken rejection much to far.

How the rain hides her cries,
her true sorrow lies behind her green eyes.
As you walk away, thinking you'll never see her again
You see her fifteen years later in the arms of another man.

This is so tragic and yet so beautiful. Wonderfully written

This piece takes me to several places in my mind! Imaging the rain, his sadness and the overall breakup between the two! The green title is genius and grabs my attention. The storyline is very relatable , my dear, and I thank you for bringing me back to my past of hardships between men and betrayal. Thank You for sharing this piece of art!

Keep Calm and Carry On
