Behind Her Green EyesA Poem by nepentheBehind Her Green Eyes Over and over you predicted the end. Imagine the message he would send. "It's not you, it's me" Said to the girl he thought wifey-to-be. Worse to worse, then comes rain. He gives you an umbrella, but that furthers the pain. You find yourself thinking how mature you two are. Others have taken rejection much to far. How the rain hides her cries, her true sorrow lies behind her green eyes. As you walk away, thinking you'll never see her again You see her fifteen years later in the arms of another man.
