The minutes ticked by. Scarlet lay listening to the sound of each foxes moment, each scuttle of a mouse, each hoot from an owl, every noise. She gazed at every star and each crater on the moon. Relaxed and waiting. It was 12.30 exactly when she heard his footsteps thudding along the other side of the field. When he eventually made it to the spot of grass where she was lying, she stood up to meet his eyes. The boy stood in front of her was about her high 5.6”, with short blonde hair that was currently styling bed head. His eyes where hazel and, although the rest of his body wasn’t, very alert. Scarlet sucked in a quite breath to prepare herself for what happened next. He wrapped his arms around her waist and their mouths touched. Then his opened. His movement was fast, wet and urgent. She felt completely repulsed by the movement of his tongue in her mouth. When he finally let go he was beaming and smiling from ear to ear. “Shall we go back to yours?” Scarlet scanned the field it was empty and no one was likely to come out not at night. She looked at Jake then at the woods next to them, she had mastered how to control the killer inside of her. But this morning she just wanted blood, vegans and she couldn’t wait. Her head was swimming with the idea and her eyes sparked a Perfect emerald green with excitement. She smiled a sweet yet secretive smile and took jakes hand. “We could always stay here.” She said her voice seeming like a sweet naive little girl. She could see the excitement in jakes eyes as she took his hand and lead him half way into the woods. She stopped when she came to a small circle of tall, strong trees. Her eyes met Jake’s. She watched how his expression changed from excitement to nerves within seconds. Scarlet smiled at her thought. He’s going to die a virgin. Jake’s hand suddenly wrapped around her waist pulling her into a tree as his lips found hers. Scarlet moved her hand gently up his torso, her hand stopped dead underneath his chin. Suddenly Jake was gasping for air as Scarlet’s hand closed around his thought. Jake began clawing frantically at the wrist with one hand, trying to loosen her grip with the other. Fire blazed through Scarlet, her eyes turned from emerald green to black and scarlet red. She could feel the blood pulsing through her veins. An evil smile reached her lips and she laughed. She watched as Jake’s face began to turn a shade of purple, his eyes full of pleading. “Please.” He chocked. Scarlet loosen her grip and he fell to his knee’s gasping for air. Scarlet just stood there laughing. “You…..you crazy b***h!” He whispered his breath raspy. Scarlet could hear the air ripping through his chest. She stopped laughing and knelt down next to him. Her eyes back to the penetrating dark green. “I’m sorry.” She whispered. “It was supposed to be a joke.” Her voice was back to the sweet naive little girl. “Let’s get you to the hospital.” She placed her hand under his arm and hauled him to his feet, his face down towards the floor. Then she tightened her grip. Jake whimpered like and injured dog. Scarlet flung him into the tree like an unwanted rag doll. Jake screamed as he hit his head against the hard tree bark. Blood trickled down the side of his face. He tried to get to his feet but Scarlet’s knee was in his stomach before he had chance. He doubled over clutching his rip. Scarlet smiled to herself she had felt it crack. Jake was sobbing, whimpering in pain. “Why?” It was all he could say. And Scarlet answered with a hard cold laugh. “You deserve it, you all do!” She picked up a long and heavy stick that was on the floor behind her. She took it in her hand and raised it in the air. It went straight along Jakes face throwing him to his opposite side. He whimpered once again. She knelt down and moved her face to his. They were a breath away from each other. “What’s the matter can’t take a little pain.” Her voice had changed completely. It was mocking, cold and hard. She flashed that evil smile once again and again her eyes changed. The green faded to black and the centre became scarlet red. Scarlet watched as Jake’s pupil’s dilated and his face turned pale. “What are you?” she whispered barely audible to the human ear but perfectly understood by Scarlet. “Guess” She giggled like a child on Christmas morning. Jake stared at her. “W..witch?” He asked as his head began to gently sway. Scarlet though back her head and laughed. “Not quite, try Vampire.” She laughed again. Jake was shaking his head violently. “What so I can be a witch but not a vampire?” Jake didn’t answer instead he began to cry. Scarlet stood to her feet. “Get up!” It was an order and when Jake didn’t with one swift movement she dragged him to his feet. Scarlet had Jake pinned again the tree. Pure fear was in Jakes face, he looked like a child at that moment and it made Scarlet sick. “What so humans can kill but not be killed is that it.” She flashed a wicked smile but this time there was something new. Her perfect teeth glistened in the moonlight and each one was distinctly sharp. And there were two fangs, both perfectly pointed, small yet strong enough to rip through metal. “Please.” Jake was begging tears over flowing from his eyes. “I haven’t killed. I will never kill.” He spluttered. “You would kill me if you had the chance!” scarlet spat the word at him. “You will all pay!” Scarlet’s blood was rushing through her veins almost exploding out of her skin. Her hand caught his throat once again. Her grip hard, she tilted his head and smelt his neck. Her noise travelled up and down, her lips grazed his skin. She licked his neck and continued up his face licking of the trickling blood. Her tongue flooded back down to his neck. Scarlet’s teeth ripped into his skin. His blood curdling scream echoed through the woods. She sucked until his body went limp in her arms, until she felt his heart beat its finale beat. Scarlet’s mouth was filled with the taste of sweet fear and warmth. She smiled and through the body to the floor.
“Lillian Scarlet Cole, didn’t anybody ever tell you not to play with your food?”
