Chapter Three

Chapter Three

A Chapter by Rebekah Craig
"

Ky learns what has happened.

"
I woke up tied to a small chair. I felt a wet cloth in my mouth. I tried to look around the room but all I could see was a small white square on the opposite side of the room that must have been the door. The rest of the room was completely black.
All of a sudden, a bright white light blinded me. Once my eyes had adjusted, I realized that it was just a desk lamp. Wow. Real original guys. The gag was yanked out of my mouth.
"Is your name Ky Marks?" A male voice asked. He couldn't have been over twenty-five.
"No. It's Santa Clause."
I felt a hand slap me across the face.
"We don't appreciate your sarcasm, Mr. Marks," another voice asked. This one was more feminine, and younger. Probably seventeen. "Now. Is your name Ky Marks?"
"Yes."
"Are you leader of squadron 8445?" the male voice asked.
"Yes."
"Do you know who we are?"
"Um. No. I'm sorry. I don't know your names."
Another slap.
I cleared my throat. "I'm guessing you guys are Rebels."
"You would be correct," the girl said. She must have been the leader of this little twosome.
"May I ask what it is that you want from me?" I asked.
"I'm surprised you haven't figure that out yet, Mr. Marks. The AA was low on troops in Chicago. That's why the were sending in you and your little newbie squad. See, we've intercepted every single train heading to Chicago. We are very close to taking Port 9. Once, we have that, we will go to D.C. and overthrow your so-called president."
"Why are you telling me this? How do you know I won't just go and tell my commander?"
"We know, because on the slight chance that you live through the re-education and orientation, we know about your little love affair with one Amelia Zummer."
My heart stopped. No. They couldn't know that. "I have no idea what you're talking about."
"It's okay. We won't hurt her, as long as you do exactly as we tell you," the man said.
"For now though, get some rest. You'll need it," she said.
Another blow to the head.
