KE&CL

A Poem by Rebecca Hope Rouston

i once felt this sharp pain above my knees
i had fallen in the snow and couldn't breathe
my dress was torn and my shoe was broken
i realized i'd lost everything i had hoped in

God was no where to be found that night
it wasn't quite yet time to lose this fight
the sky above me shown no stars
and the street i lay had no passing cars

i was alone, to where no one heard me scream
i didnt get how God could be so mean
i spent hours wondering where He was
why He kept doing the things He does

when was He planning on giving me a break
would it be when i'm left with nothing to take
i heard her crying as she stumbled in the door
"i'm leaving this place, i cant take it anymore"

i knew why God had put me through such a thing
He meant to show me what the loss would bring
her tears fell like the snow down onto his car
and how he loved us enough to drive so far

i lost this much so that i could see
a love like this that could have never been...

Wow, deep and moving. I like the use of capitalizing the pronoun. Smooth and easy to read with a powerful message.

If this comes from you, you must have some incredible heartache! *hugs*

Very nice write :)
