You Can't Escape.

You Can't Escape.

A Poem by Rebecca Hope Rouston
"

This is one of the poems I recovered after all mine were deleted; I changed it up a bit. (:

"

You read his messages again and again
And his face is always on your mind
He has some sick hold on your heart
You can't escape the hurt within you
He catches your eyes for only a glance
Even thats a reminder of the damage he's done
You know he hurt you and betrayed you
But you really can't escape, can you?
This must just be some pathetic joke
Or possibly just another nightmare
When will you realize he's not an illusion
But someone you once were in love with
Say everything you've been wanting to say
All those words mean nothing to him
He knows what he wants and now it's not you

Even when he still takes your breath away
Girl, just hold on for just one more day
He can't hold on to you much longer

Once he realizes he's in love with you, too

You'll have the will to say goodbye..

Another increadiblr write. I can't say I agree with the reviewer who said that women only want what we can't have. From what I've read it's deeper than that. It's that one guy. The one who played you, broke you, destroyed you. Somehow that pathetic prick still has a hold on your heart, he still has control. He's the ultimate addiction. At least that is what I feel when I read your work. I think you and I have had some similar relationships. You put those feelings so eloquently, I could never even attempt it. Your writing evokes very strong feeling and that is the epitamy of talent.

How funny that in life we want someone so bad. It's almost like a disease that lasts so long. Then one day, something inside rebukes the other person. You are able to hold your head up and ask yourself "Why did it take so long?" This poem flows smooth and has a powerful statement.

A painful and poignant poem relating to something so personal, yet so universal. Glad you were able to recover this one! It holds deep meaning for those trying to let go...

Oh my, I can finally see clearly now. Women want what they can't have! And when they can have it, they at least learn, in your words, "the will to say goodbye." What's a guy to do? Great poetry, again. The description of the human psyche in your work approaches Dostoevsky ;-)

Have a nice day!

I like this very much. So true too, because we hold on to love that has already passed. Possibly holding our hearts for when they return even though in the backs of our minds they will never return, but we still keep the hope.

Keep up the work.
