Watching.

Watching.

A Poem by rebeccarellis

Everyone's alone on the pier,
Evenly spaced, careful of the peace.
Staring, smoking, examining:
They see only echoes of
Nothing and themselves.

Waves skip and slap in the
Veils of skittered light,
Make hanging emptiness
Lovely; lost boats
The subject of paintings.

Time just sits, lets go
The flow as we bask and
Loll to plink, clink, plink-
Mulling between walls or
Wading through air
To feel, not think.

I always wished I could
Open my eyes Underwater.
