Burn My Heart

Burn My Heart

A Poem by Rebecca Pall

Burn my soul
Leave the day that we first met
The butterflies, the stutters
Having nothing on my mind but you
Burn my heart
Of the very first kiss
The flavor of your lips on mine
The warmth of a constant flow of passion
Burn my heart
When you told me you loved me
Having the Earth, Sun, and moon align perfectly
Having the feeling of perfect harmony
THE SCORCH HURTS NOW
Burn my heart
When you said it was over
Leaving me speechless
I lost a part of me
Burn my heart
When you say that it's your own mind instead of my actions
Not true
I did something wrong
Burn my heart
When you tell me you no longer love me
There is an empty hole in my heart where my love for you should be
But you won't refill it for me
Burn my heart
When you have a new lover
Now I know it doesn't matter what I do
You were never happy with me
THE BURN GIVES ME AGONIZING PAIN AND THERE'S NO MORE HEALING CREAM

Life happens - sometimes we survive it and still don't know how we did at all.
