In Love With The Light..

In Love With The Light..

A Poem by Rebecca

Imagine, the darkness in love with the light.

Losing her soul, then losing the fight.

Told how to live, then commanded to smite

The one that she loved, her only good sight.

She'd lost before, but what could she do?

'Enjoy what she could, then change right on cue.'

She had no choice, couldn't fight this feud.

How could she love, and have to hate him too?

Happiness felt like no option to her.

So she lived sadly, one of the herds.

She told him to go on, made him give her his word,

And so she continued, like nothing occurred.

This is wonderful. Has some sadness into it, but many of us can relate to it.

This is a beautifully written expression of matters in the heart that many can relate to Im sure! The last stanza wraps this piece up nicely! Well done ~ Jude :-)

Wow! That was so beautiful! I loved it! I think that the simplicity of your poem really worked an advantage to the overall feel of the piece. I liked the underlying story of this poem, and felt like you portrayed the feelings of love, pain within love, and compromise really well.
I found the whole light/darkness metaphor to be really creative and thought-provoking! It was a nice way of depicting your main themes.
A very beautiful write! Well done,
