Dear Friend

Dear Friend

A Poem by Rebecca

My mind clogs with each passing day,

Forgive me, Friend, my life's at bay.

This stupid world and it's stupid curse,

Blackens the soul.. Makes you turn for the worst.

Promises wre broken and lies were made clear.

Or maybe.. I'm finally just seeing my fears.

I can't hide anymore, it's not who I am.

You are always my friend, the lion's little lamb,

If I die or if I live, time will keep flowing,

And no matter what, you need to keep going.

I'm sorry friend, I can't always protect, and

I can't take you with me, that'd end in reck.

I'm breaking a promise.. I'm sorry for that.

But by breaking it, I keep you safe, I like that fact.

Your friends love you, stay open to them dear,

I'm there when truly needed, you've nothing to fear.

Friend, understand.. One day I'll be back.

When I resume control, and find what I lack.

Only then can I return, be who I was again,

Until then 'Goodbye, and good luck to you,

Friend.'

Beautifully written.
Saying goodbye but a promise to return.
Telling them to keep on going.
Even when your taking time out.
