Dreams

Dreams

A Poem by Rebecca

It was a long time ago,

I had almost forgotten my dream.

Back when everything seemed so

Easy to achieve.

I had young hopes,

Goals, if you will.

But as you age, you come to cope,

And let reality fill.

I wanted to be an actor,

I wanted to be famous.

But now I'm growing to the factor,

That it's hard to become famous.

I don't believe that giving up,

Is ever the right thought.

But too much dreaming sticks you up

In a place you can't be caught.

So dream your dreams,

At night, in bed.

Wait for the day when reality beams,

And live until you're dead.

The thing with dreaming is if you do not put forth any action it will go in vain. Dreaming, like faith, should be an action word. I was the biggest dreamer in the world!! I wanted to be a model, then a dermatologist, then a teacher, then I wanted to join the peace corps... There is absolutly nothing wrong with dreaming. But if you use it as a way to hide from reality then it becomes a problem.

This piece was magnificent and very thoughful. Great job.
