Life LessonsA Poem by RebeccaThrough life's hardships and troubles, You learn a few quick survival techniques: Number 1: Run away from temptation. All it does is bring you short joy and long pain. Number 2: Hide your heart. All the world does is try to break it. Number 3: Be yourself. For who else will?
I gave into temptation, and gave you my heart, You bent this fragile soul to the point of no return. You played with my emotions, and I'm the one who burned, I'm not just some recycled bottle you can throw only to get back, My heart and mind are fragile as glass, and once you break it, It's gone.
I'm done helping the selfish, I have no point of sympathy for such a rotted heart, I have no doubt you'll go somewhere in this world, But I won't be watching. You... are no longer my responsibility.
You're sad? You're sad? You got what you wanted, I was not aware you had feelings to hurt, I hope I'm wrong about you, but hey, That's not my job anymore. © 2009 RebeccaReviews
