Dreamworld BellaA Poem by RebeccaLittle girl from my dreams, lost and confused, Her mother ignored her, her step-father abused. She wants daddy home, but physically he can't return. She's permitted to see him in her dreams, other's begin to concern. Little girl of the night, how care-free you are, Even with your difficult life, you live it fully by far. Always smiling, always dancing, A true pleasure to see. But in the dark, you always wonder, How you came to be. Little girl, do understand, this life was not your fault. Your mother loved another man, when she did have a heart. They fell in love, were engaged, then he left for war, But tragedy fell, as did he, her heart and spirit tore. Little girl from past love, she loves you tenderly. But the sight of you reminds her, what love could not be. She tried her best to raise you, but everyday it hurt. She'd see your face and think of him, as if she were cursed. She never fell in love again, that man gave her a home. Offered a life to live, though a poor one, she could not refuse. Little girl, you are wonderous, a true beauty to the world. I met your father in my life, as I met you in my dreams, Seeing you cry pained him deeply, such a pain that's hard to believe. But now you're safe, you're in Heaven. But even Heaven can't compare. You're perfect, little angel. And perfect can't compare. © 2008 Rebecca |
