Just For Tonight

Just For Tonight

A Poem by Rebecca

If there was something wrong,

I'd let you know, I swear.

But like the melody of a song,

This is a normal thing I bear.

One more drop of blood, just let me feel alive.

And with the feathers of a dove, for once let me survive.

I compensate the scars,

With a smile everyday.

I truly am happy.

I've finally gotten my say.

Even if I know my lifetime is numbered,

And one day I will die,

I'll enjoy each day like the first of summer.

And I'll expect you won't cry.

You will stand strong and be brave,

And remember the life we had.

Our memories together, please do save,

You do not have to be sad.

Be happy you got passed me,

And are runing farther in the race.

Be yourself, all you can be.

Your soul, as mine, is safe.

But for tonight.

Just for tonight.

Let me feel real,

Don't take my pride in joy from me,

Let me finish the deal.

So for tonight,

Just for tonight.

Let me live.
