Darkness

Darkness

A Poem by Rebecca

Cold and dark,

Dark and blue,

Life is weak,

Moist as dew.

Breaking passed midnight,

Pretending I'm alright,

Ignorance is bliss,

Reality,

I don't miss.

Desperation fills my body,

Leave the truth turned off,

Hold me in your arms, your smile's soft..

But I can't live forever..

I can't lie, saying we're together..

I'm dying inside,

Now I think I know why,

And now all I can say is

Goodbye.

Reads like a goth rock song lyric. You ever write lyrics? It rolls well, dark and blue, yet one is left with the enigma: "I'm dying inside, Now I think I know why" -- why? We're all something that dies, and maybe something that doesn't. So this reader wants to know what that soul emphasis of desperation is. . .I mean I know what that pain is, and I also know something else. . .Dark blue is also the color of infinite exhilarating night.
