I'll Be Gone

I'll Be Gone

A Poem by Rebecca

Giving up, giving out,
When'd you become so absurd?
Looking back and about,
Doing things so unheard.

I don't know you now,
Fiery passion is gone.
I can't believe what you've allowed,
Of you I was so fond.

You had so much passion,
Always viewing the light.
When did you lose all your ration
And solve everything by fight?

I hope one day that you see,
That of you, I was so fond.
But by the time it comes to be,
I'll already be gone.

We need to be nicer to each other. If we all actually lived by that principle we'd be fine. But most of us, well, there is an intense drive to always get even. Even when we know we are in the wrong, if we feel mistreated we will seek vengeance somehow in someway at some point during our life. Humans are f*****g crazy and most of us are total a******s if we aren't crazy... we should, we need to be nicer to each other. It's what I think the Jesus parable was getting at. (I am an atheist)

Smooth and lifelike... little drama is good...but not so much. great opening stanza!

This is written looking at the other who seems to mysteriously change from who they first were. I think you capture the light of the changes well and the words bring across a sorrowful and sad tone with them.
I believe that what youve described here is the result of someone who lets the love in the moment blind them, not to what's around them, but who they are inside. Then as time marches on, they open their own curtains and it shocks them how much they have burried of their own selves for another. Instead of bring up their revelation to those close and finding a resolvable solution, they simply wall up and or lash out. It's that fight or flight reaction that is seen and I think your poem catches the light of.

Great Ink!
