You and The Things You Are

You and The Things You Are

A Poem by Rebecca L. Smith
"

You know what they say, "truth hurts."

"
You’re like lightning trapped in a bottle
You’re out of control with no where to go
You’re just a lost hope

Like philosophy from Aristotle
You’re so out of place; you're way out in space
You need a telescope

Your heart roars like the waves in an ocean
But you’re just an echo; a faded out fresco
Of who you used to be

Like an earthquake fueled by emotion
You’re shaking on the inside, choking on your self pride
What a catastrophe
