Man Unkind [Weeping Willow]

Man Unkind [Weeping Willow]

A Poem by Rebecca L. Smith
"

Man is not always so kind.

"
No one wants to die on a sunny day with blue skies
And blackbirds singing in the trees
No one wants to walk blindly in the dark
But I can’t trust the news on my TV
No one wants to drown in sorrow
Or choke on a lifetime of regret
No one wants to see that the Dream is no longer
But no one can seem to forget

Cause they shake my soul like an old weeping willow
Dig her a hole in the ground
They said, shake her soul like an old weeping willow
Lord, please… don’t cut me down

No one wants to live locked in a brain cell
Too afraid to break out of their own mind
No one wants to give up and bid life farewell
Is this really what they meant by mankind?
You know, our wars are never over
No, they just rearrange the dates
When will we stop believing their lies
And realize all the pain it creates?

Cause they shake my soul like an old weeping willow
Dig her a hole in the ground
They said, shake her soul like an old weeping willow
Lord, please… don’t cut me down
Lord, don't cut me down

Wow I must say you speak in a deep tone I felt the words, people don't know what that means when you say I felt your words grasp my will, They set as a mountain and reach my span. I like how you used the weeping willow very much. I'm from Tennessee seen many willow tress grow here where water is and when the roots no longer have water they fall apart.

Hi, Rebecca. I really liked this line: "You know, our wars are never over
No, they just rearrange the dates". These words just seemed to drop from your willow trees :)
