Time ExpiresA Poem by MatthewTime expires, and that's how you know.
All this grass reminds me of home
The memories come in with such desire I think I know why you came back today I know you said that it will all be okay When love expires on this plane That’s how the end will come All the markings are falling in place That’s how you know the end will come He lost his hope in this place Come to think of it, it was such a disgrace I think I know why you came back today I know you keep telling me it will be okay When love expires on this earth That’s how the end will come All the disasters are falling in place That’s how you know the end will come When you lose all hope in this world Then you release life was all too short When you work your mind to remember a fading dream Then you release life was all too mundane You say you’re here, then you say you’re there I know you didn’t want to choose, but that’s just f*****g life You want to be, then you want to see I know you didn’t want to believe, but that’s just how you survive All this grass reminds me of home The memories fade but come back in time I know why you came back today Why do you keep saying that it’s okay? When love expires on this earth That’s how the end will come All the prophecies are falling in place That’s how the end will come This is for the ones who want to show And this is for the people who think they know This is for the ones who want to show And this is for the people who think they know Because I’m the one who f*****g showed And I’m the one who thought they f*****g knew © 2013 Matthew |
