Forgotten Shore

Forgotten Shore

A Poem by Matthew
"

We all seem to forget about love

"
Why do you run?
I lived life for you
And now here you stand
Broken and crack before me
Asking for another chance
My feelings slowly melt

War and sand mixed with blood
On the forgotten sun

She waits on a beach
Filled with life and dreams

Man now slowly take
What she has given to me

Why do you hide?
I chased after you all my life
And now here you are
Jaded and split
Asking for another run
My happiness slowly fades

Guns and hate mixed with tears
On the forgotten land

You wait for me on a beach
Filled with love and hope

Men now slowly steal
What has rightfully been given to me

Why do you fight?
I’ve defended you for so long
And now here you land
Hated and disowned
Asking for another turn
My joy slowly dejects

Machines and tanks mixed with fear
On the forgotten shore

You wait for me on a beach
Filled with fun and excitement

Men now start to chase
They’ll never catch me
