Your Phantom

Your Phantom

A Poem by Beaner166

My rest is never true.
As I lay, motionless in slumber.
Body unmoving.
My soul travels on.

Projecting myself where I truly belong.
I stand as a guardian.
Watching over you.
Protecting you as you travel.

You will likely never know,
The quiet protector keeping you.
Hidden in the veil.
Tortured by his wanting.

I will protect you ever more.
Regardless of circumstance.
With love unwavering.
Though possibly unrequited.

Bound by the limitations of the body.
My soul will find you.
Giving relief through sight,
But left wanting for embrace.

Nearness without touch,
Attaining only good enough.
Faithful in my calling, I will stand.
Keeping safe the one who keeps my heart.

Your Phantom
