"Legacy"

A Poem by masqued_muse
"

I think it's just something random...

"
If beauty lives to define
    what's barren; in between,
   then only for appearance's sake,
    do we nurture the need.
   If golden crumbs left behind;
    point to rabid dream,
   then judgment calls that we make,
    will always reflect greed.

   I have peered into the same;
    kneeling by the water,
   needing sweet refreshment,
    more hungry, than I knew.
   But loyalty calls my name,
    Narcissus is my father.
   He said there's more contentment,
    in feeding from this...view.

Of course, it is pretty deep. See if you can relate, somewhat.

Powerful words wrapped around a striking narrative. Sometimes we need to be wary of narcissus point of view, or we may well end up in his position too. Beautiful imagry though.

Nice work, somewhat scathing in its delivery and that makes me chuckle. It is deep, it's heavy, but it has a hint of black humor in it. Nice work, muse.
