"

Poem I wrote thinking about my fractured childhood; with the knowledge that I can still find acceptance in the arms of my BEST FRIEND....

"

A crippled, crawling,curious girl,
stumbled into light;
her fractured, hopeless, dreary world,
is given second sight..
Her heart,hardened, and doubled,
broken, now, into.
her manic thoughts, so troubled,
daily,now, renewed.
An memories,mirror, an attack,
by tragic,childish fears;
the smile you see is now unmatched,
caressed by happy tears.
The enemy of stolen time,
now it’s become best friend.
The youth she had to leave behind,
has been restored again.
Her faith though kept; still shaken,
grew higher than the storm.
The nights that had been taken,
now feel so safe and warm.
A life of bitter ashes,
replaced by dreams of dare,
the sorrow of the past has,
vanished into air.
From believing no one loved her,
to convinced that Some One does.
From accepting she must suffer,
to receiving special love.
From cringing in a cold cage,
to soaring high and free.
From leading lady, on a stage,
to protesting out of key.
The mask,hiding the glow,
fell to the ground.
Revelation knowledge flows,
peace can make a sound.
This change came slowly,
and remains a mystery.
He; forever Holy,
searching for..just…me.

I love the Carol-esque meter, rhyme near-rhyme and non. Ii is dreamlike with twists as it flirts with various life roles. I never comment on religion, as no one cares for my take on this, but that it ends where it does does work. Well done, and thanks for sharing.

Now I know we are siblings of a sort. I saw you hunkered down in the storm. You were a simple point of light, light from tenacious belief that you had value. Funny how the cold can sap strength and power but not that point of light.

This poem told my story too. Thank you.

You've got GRUNT Charlie-horse!
You are a survivor and a fighter and I like those qualities.
You're a believer... each to his own.
But I like YOUR spirit as portrayed in this piece!

brilliant beyond measure
and so completely inspirational
it took a lot out of me
to make this journey
to the center of my core
where i truly belong

the stumbles to the flow may not be real... but the eye plays spell checker and catches seeming wrong words - that pause and derail the mind's sight flow.

Take care,
Chris

Despite some spacing issues, this piece is very spiritual and thought-provoking.

Beautiful sentiments on the travel from dispirited to spiritually content. Circumstances have broken even the strongest at times, and there are times when every single person needs strength beyond their own...

Incredible. All of your work is quite lyrical! It almost seems like a nursery rhyme, though more complex. Your words flow with a gentle softness that rocks the readers brain in phonetics and imagery. Wonderful.
