Chapter TwoA Chapter by realistchickThis chapter is a little suggestive, and there is some inappropriate language.I swung my legs over the side of my bed. I could hear Damon downstairs talking on the phone with a customer. I grabbed my fitted jeans off the back of my chair and threw on my princess t-shirt. I slapped on some lip gloss, and grabbed my purple and blue Nikes. I looked at the nasty bruise forming on my arm from the night before. “S**t, I knew this was gonna do that.” I didn’t even consider covering the bruise with a bit of make up before grabbing my book bag. It made me look tough if I had it. Plus I knew I would just fit in with most of my classmates. “T, you gonna be late again,” Damon yelled up the stairs. I rolled my eyes and grabbed my cell, keys, and headphones. “I’ll see you after school,” I replied on my way out. I caught the bus just before it left. “T, you almost missed me again. You should come out earlier.” Me and Mrs. Davis had this conversation every day. “Yes ma’am, I’ll try to be here earlier.” I slid into a seat beside Amber, my best friend. “At least you made the bus today.” She rolled her eyes, “what happened last night?” “What happened to good morning, or TGIF?” I complained. “Really, what happened last night? We could hear you next door.” “Why should I tell you?” She looked over the tops of her glasses. “The word no came out my mouth. Then he shook yes outta me.” “When you gonna learn. Be glad he ain’t my daddy.” I knew the story behind Amber’s dad. After getting out of prison, he moved in with her and her mom. He hadn’t changed at all. “It’s still nasty. Damon supposed to be my daddy tryin’ to get me to be like some of his girls. They can work the streets, but that ain’t me.” “Do what you gotta do lil’ momma.” I looked over my shoulder to find Kevin seating beside me. For 16, most of us had seen and done things most people would never do in their entire lives. Kevin was no exception. “My moms did it, why can’t you?” I rolled my eyes because he already knew the answer, but I told him anyway. “I wanna go to college, besides I ain’t yo’ momma.” I saw a smile creep across his face. “I wish you would be. Maybe spank me when I’m naughty.” “You nasty,” Amber yelled. I just rolled my eyes. We all got off the bus together, but I headed off to my locker with Amber. “I might have books for first period for once.” I reached into locker to pull out my books for first and second period. Seemed like the day went by slowly, but it wasn’t slow enough. I looked at the clock and it was already 2:30. I headed out of class looking for Amber. “T, I’m right here.” I looked over to find Amber flirting with some boy. “Well Mrs. Davis is here, and she will leave you.” I got on the bus and found a seat beside Kevin. Amber finished making out with whoever she had been talking to. “I had to get some sugar before I headed home.” “Ho,” Kevin coughed out. “What would yo’ daddy think if he found out you were replacin’ him?” I said in a joking tone. “You wouldn’t!” She jumped over the seat and tried hitting me. I stuck my tongue out and laughed. “Girl, I’m just jokin’. If yo’ daddy told Damon what you did, I would get in trouble too for not stoppin’ you.” “You promise?” “We’ve been down for the long haul. Why would that change now?” She slumped down in her seat. “I didn’t mean what I said about the ho thing.” Kevin pretended be a jerk, but he was really a good guy. “I know it was just a joke,” Amber let out a breath of air. “Dad’s not gonna be home for a while, anybody wanna keep me company?” “Only for a little while, my momma wants me to make some runs for her and a few other ladies in the buildin’.” I looked over at Kevin. “I guess I can come, but I have to go before Damon gets home.” “You live next door, how can you not make it home?” Amber asked. “I’ll come, damn!” We all got off the bus and made the short walk to Amber’s house. We talked for a little while before Kevin got a call and headed home. A little while later, I heard Damon enter the house. “I gotta go, but I’ll call you tonight.” “Bye and I might not be able to answer the phone.” “Oh, I’ll try anyway and goodnight just in case.” I walked out of her back door, hopped the fence, and climbed my way into my room window. I was too late; Damon was already sitting on my bed. © 2011 realistchick |
