One of a kindA Chapter by realistIntroducing Tom
Sat at his desk in his newly furnished office, Tom busily looked at the current case he was working on. He occasional smirked to himself seeing the request made from a woman in her divorce statements from her sleaze-ball soon to be ex-husband. Most divorces ended badly, with one of the parties furiously trying to take something the other loves in order to destroy them, and Tom knew this all too well having been a divorce lawyer for the last 7 years. He was one of the partners in the firm, but he was different to his fellow partners. He wasn't arrogant or cocky, nor was he interested in meaningless flings with any of the secretaries or Candice.
Most of the partners had sexy, somewhat ditsy secretaries, who would be willing to take part in extra curriculum activities with their outrageously demanding bosses. They often dressed too inappropriately for a law firm, but they were a good way to entertain clients, especially future investors. Tom never had any problems in getting women, with his exquisite dress sense and exception good looks. He was tall and well built, his pitch black hair was well contrasted by his icy blue eyes. But what got most of the women gagging for his attention, was his smile. He could light up any room with that smile. Yes that smile was exactly what hooked Candice's attention. However, he didn't believe in seeing or for that matter sleeping with any of his co-workers. He preferred to keep business and his private life separate. That was one of the reasons he hired Linda, a woman that was more than past her prime, as his secretary. She was a sweet, little lady, with grey hair and dressed as if she still lived in the 70s. This helped him avoid any temptation and focus purely on his career at the firm. He has previously seen way too many of the firm's partners in counter awkward situations with the women at the firm, and he was not about to be known as 'one of those men'. © 2014 realistAuthor's Note
