Abused ChildrenA Poem by Aubrey HarrellKids are abused everyday for no reason. We must try to stop this madness and make every child in this world as happy as they can be.My drunk father on the couch. I slouch against the wall. Afraid of what might come Or what there is to be done. My mother working day and night, So I will be alright. A bright blue bruise upon her cheek with so much to lose. As he starts to wake my small body begins to shake. I here him groan and curse thinking this must be the worst. What did I do To you? To put you in this state And feel all of this hate. Nothing is what I did So good rid of you. I have been abused And completely confused. I have felt most pain And have been blamed for everything. I am not afraid of you anymore. I will boar this shame no longer. Court is taking me So I can be free Of the terrible man Who will be banned from me forever. I will be safe. From the rafe who imprisoned me. I have never felt that feeling That will be healing me soon.© 2017 Aubrey HarrellFeatured Review
