RejoiceA Poem by Aubrey HarrellThis is a story of how Jesus died in the cross and resurrected
God sent Jesus down to earth.
A stunning baby boy. Mary gave birth in a manger. Would you ask for more? Jesus grew up strong and glorious. He visited the temple daily. Along came his miracles glorified to God. The biblical times a happening. Jesus loved all people, evil or nice. He rid of demons and devilish pieces. All to glorify him. His disciples, close in friendship. One would deceive him though. Judas upon them all, turned him in for 30. Guards came to capture Him. He went without a problem. They put him in front of Pilot. He sent Jesus to die. They stripped Him of His clothes. The cross grand and heavy, sat upon His shoulders. They stopped Him too soon. Whips of glass and wood, shreds through his skin. Blood and water spew, from the mighty blow. 40 lashes hit Him, deep inside a pulp. Nothing He could do, but stand and thinks of us. They made Him carry it some more. All the way to The Skull. Two more criminals already there. Ready to go with Him. The nails 9 inches long, strike His feet and hands. He winces and screams, but He knows it must be done. He died among the criminals. A sign above his head. "King of the Jews" it read. He has done his deed. Joseph's tomb, not yet used. Fresh and ready for Him, there He will pay for eternity. The third day from his death. People are still weeping. The break of dawn peeked over, He rose once again. An angel in the tomb. The women told the apostles, but they didn't believe them. Then Jesus showed himself. Two of the apostles, in the country far. Jesus showed himself and they went and told the rest. None of the other believed. Not a one at all, but they would soon. He would call. Jesus showed to them, all at once. They touched his hands and feet, looking for his holes. He rose to the sky, in glorious rein. We will rejoice, and be glad into it. © 2017 Aubrey HarrellFeatured Review
