The Love Tree

The Love Tree

A Poem by nesuispas
"

Love may not die.

"

the wind was moved by

connection and chemistry.

it pushed the seed through the sky,

as it dreamed of sprawling ebony.

eventually the seed was in the ground,

planted and ready for warring with fate.

all around, it was being found.

and the rain was like a first date.

it started to sprout and grow.

sunlight was their smiles,

their smiles and their glow.

singing through happiness isles

soon it was giant.

something never ignored.

but as they got more reliant,

the branches cracked like one weak chord.

the fallen sticks were used as knives.

it suffered from so many breaks.

the leaves left for their own lives,

surely it would fall, said the stakes.

it never did fall.

it stopped growing after that winter,

but the tree stayed, above all.

sometimes it may have even whispered.

it lived on.

it was an old and tired thing.

no one even remembered its dawn.

that was love, and it would stay all spring.
