Mother GoddessA Poem by Haley-Daniel BelairI am the Mother of all, for I am the Earth. The Earth is my body and the flowing rivers are my blood. My temple can be found were the green grass grows. The push and pull of the tide is my heartbeat. Darkness is my time and the moon my watchful eye. When you lift the chalice, remember me, For I am your Mother and the chalice is my womb. The wine contained within is the blood of the Earth. As the wheel turns each year, eight festivals shall be found. Honour me with song and dance. Let your worship be within the heart that rejoices, For all acts of love and pleasure are my rituals. I ask for nothing in sacrifice, For all are beloved of me. And you shall be free to choose by your own will. As you eat and breath freely, so shall your days be spent. Free as the wind, water, earth and sky. This is how your lives should be lived. Call to me when doubt fills your mind. I shall take your hand and guide you on your journey. Call to me when sadness fills your heart. I shall pull you to my breast and comfort you my child, For all are my children. Love, Life and Death; these are the greatest mysteries. To be born there must be love. To have love there must be life. To have life there must be death. I was with you in the beginning. I shall be with you in the end, For life and death are mine to give and take. © 2008 Haley-Daniel BelairReviews
