Lament of Morrigan

Lament of Morrigan

A Poem by Haley-Daniel Belair
"

based on Celtic Mythology of Warrior Goddess Morrigan

"

A screech is heard I know you've come in the form of a raven,

Black as night on silent wing to a stone you come to lite,

Double edged like the sword you are into my soul you see,

Here I am my breast is bare for your blade to claim my life,

Transforming life to death only to be born again,

Peace mounts to the heavens,

The divine waters descend to earth,

And enriches our lives.

We are of the Earth now

And everyone is strong...

I liked the imagery and how it also told a story.
"Transforming life to death only to be born again," made me think of the Phoenix in mythology too.
Thanks!

I like it. I like the lines:

"Vastness of the void,
Creation begins.
All is new."

It is short, sweet, and straight to the point. Nice write.

"Wow" is all that I can say. "Shadows come like fallow blades" is probably be the best images I've seen set in a poem in a long time (at least from an amateur). Well done.
