Despite it All

Despite it all

Somehow cling to this

Little piece of hope

For it is now

More valuable than gold

And there are those

That would take it away

For some petty amusement

 

Despite it all

I still believe in you, in us

As it is us against the world

And I’ll continue slaying dragons

However many it takes

As long as it keeps you

Believing in and loving me

 

Despite it all

We will rise to the occasion

Even against long odds

Like the fourth quarter

And seconds to go

No matter what happens

We will hit that last shot
