Now and Later

Now and Later

A Chapter by Richard B. Berry

So shallow, so limited

Confining ourselves

To an insignificant speck

In an obscure part of the universe

Our bodily existence, a mere tenancy

To one of many realities

God has so much more to show us

Though we close our hearts

Close our minds

Embrace the ignorance

Embrace the hate

like a nurturing mother

yet this mother

is the kind that eats its young

I want to embrace the light, O Lord

Exist in a universe divined by your love

For eternity, in timelessness

In harmony with everything
