SO Easy to Cast Stones

SO Easy to Cast Stones

A Chapter by Richard B. Berry

So easy to cast stones

Sin, so prevalent

None of us willing

To remove the mote from our eye

Though we see our brother’s

Ever so clearly

We are hypocrites

Thou shalt not judge

But ever so quick to criticize

To ostracize, penalize

Those from the outside

Calling ourselves the chosen ones

Yet we do the choosing

We are vain

Love one another

As I have loved you

The Messiah’s words fall

On ever so deaf ears

Our hatreds and pettiness

Obscure the path to paradise

We are spiteful

I pray, O Father

Redirect us on the path

We have strayed from

Help us to see

The universal truth of love

That slips from our hands

Like the hot desert sands

Your tolerance of our faults

An enduring show of your love

Forgive our sins

And one day yet

We may actually show

We are worthy of your grace

 amen
