Perceptions

A Chapter by Richard B. Berry

For a few brief seconds, it was there. This sense of unbelievable clarity. All the answers to everything one could imagine right there for the taking. Everything that had ever happened in the course of human history flashing through my mind in fast forward. But my mind, hindered by human limitations, could only process how confusing the moment was; how I was too afraid to completely give in to the moment....lest I lose myself entirely.

Our existence is clouded by what we are told to believe about ourselves. In this reality, our humanity limits us from truly exploring our consciousness. We lie to ourselves about everything in order to conform to an ideal that has nothing to do with our true nature.

Day by day I prepare myself for the moment I leave the boundaries of my flesh and to whatever awaits me on the other side. I accept that it is inevitable and do believe there is much more than this. I'm trying to intellectually reconcile religious teachings and science. I do believe both are vital to gaining better understanding. To me, science better explains God's work; without using poetic license to explain fantastic events.

I do think there is a sort of universal consciousness, which explains the phenomenon of people believing deities have communicated with them. Moments of intense inspiration, clarity or vision I do think tap in to the energy from this to help us achieve things that would normally be beyond ourselves. There is good energy and there is also evil energy that we can tie into.
