In the dead of night

In the dead of night. Tucked under the cover.
Ants crawling up my spine. Afraid of what I might discover.

In the closet of my bedroom. Something I cannot hear.
But in there in the dark, there's something to fear.

Something hiding. Something grinning.
Something rising. Something chilling.

It's coming. I want to scream.
I open my eyes. It was only a dream.
