The one everyone looked up to
The one who supported all
The one you leaned on in times of need
You showed a good example to all of us
Your accomplishments live forever

But father
What has become of you!
You lie in a shallow grave
All that is left of you is this tomb stone
All that is left of you are these memories

All that you tried to do was to please everyone
You built this family from the bottom up
You built this company from the bottom to the top
For it was by your vision that we are here now

Am I a disappointment?
I couldn’t bear to be your shame

But all you tried was to please everyone
Protect us from the monsters that came from the closet
Provide for us
Teach us
Build us

Who knows!
The things that you’ve had to go through
The sacrifices you’ve had to make
The late nights at the office
The lonely days away from home
The tension and the worries
Who knows the burden you have had to carry
I cannot imagine a day in your shoes

But father
Nobody shed real tears upon your tomb stone
How could they be!
Because now that you’re gone, they only speak awful things about you

They call you a womanizer
For you had children in many states

They call you selfish
For you amassed great wealth for yourself

They call you a liar
For you always promised more than you could achieve

Not even those that were close to you had good things to say about you
The pain that you caused them is beyond forgiveness
The hurt that you befell upon this family runs deep
And you are to blame for everything

Is this what it takes to be a father!
To carry the blame
The guilt for all eternity
