Just Friends

Just Friends

A Poem by Glee

Mr Affectionate

Would I offend you if I told you

I wanted to kiss your cherry lips

Mr Compassionate

Would I offend you if I told you

I wanted to drown in your embrace

Mr Appropriate

Would I offend you if I told you

I wanted to wake up by your side

Mr Fortunate

Would I offend you if I told you

I wanted to live with you forever

Dear friend

Please note that it was never my intention

Dear friend

I’d ask for nothing, but to offend you

Dear friend

Please understand it was never my intention

Dear friend

Do I repulse you that much?

Do I distaste you that much?

Do I disgust you that much?

Dear friend

I know what you’re saying and I hear you well

I know what you’re implying and I completely agree

We could be just friends

Friends

Friends love each other in the hard times

Friends lean on each other in thick and thin

Friends turn to each other when times are rough

Friendship is strong

Powerful

Lasting

Indiscriminate

How amazing the power of friendship!

Dear friend

I know what you’re saying and I hear you well

I know what you’re implying and I totally agree

That we could be just friends

Friends forever

Friends for eternity

Friends for life

Just  friends

But why couldn’t we be more

Why couldn’t we have more

Dear friend

I don’t need a friend right now, I have plenty of them to spare

I don’t need a pal right now, I have little time to spare

I  can see it in your eyes and know that you feel the same way

I see the way you look at me, though you deny it

There is no denying that sparkle in your eye when you look at me

That hint in your eye that brightens up my day

I can see it in your eyes

And know that you feel the same way

Anything my friend

I will take anything

But all I ask of is that you love me as a man

I will have anything

I will accept anything

But all I’ll ever ask

Is that you take me as Iam

And I would make sweet love to you

Tender

Warm

Gentle love making

If not with you, then tell me

Who else with my friend

Who else could love me as you do

Who else knows me as you do

Who else could see me as you do

Who else my friend

For if not with you

Then please tell me,

Who else with my friend

Who else with

And when your days turn bold

And your nights turn cold

I will be here to warm you

And when your home is lonely

And your heart is empty

Know that I will be here to fill you

I love you

Dear friend

Would I offend you if I told you

I wanted to hear those magic words from your lips

Dear friend

Would I offend you if I told you

I wanted to feel that magic touch on my skin

Dear friend

I would ask for nothing but to offend you

Please know it was never my intention

Dear friend

We were once boys

With plenty of time on our hands, lust, ambition

But now we are men

We've sown seeds

We have needs

We are men

And so all I ask is that you love me as a man

And I promise to treat you as one
