Homophobophobia

Homophobophobia

A Poem by Glee

Whispers spoken in the corridors

Gossip mumbled from afar

Spiteful words thrown the other way

Only the keen ear can listen

For if you listen intently you can still hear them well

Words of fear

Words of contempt

Words of condemnation

Instilling fright into their subjects

Hear them now

That guy is so gay, he disgusts me

That guy is so gay, he makes me sick

That guy is so gay, he makes me want to throw up

Chills running through your spine

Anger rising up your throat

Blood boiling through your veins

Who are they to judge?

Fear

It hangs upon over our heads like a dark cloud

It clings on our shoulders like a heavy burden

It ruins our lives

It keeps us from progressing

And keeps us from true happiness

The fear of fear

The fear to be who we are

The fear to come out and accept who we are

Homophobophobia

But what could you do about it?

Even the women are grossed out by it

While the men are offended by it

Homophobia

Can’t imagine what they do when they’re alone

How disgusting it must be!

How sick are they!

How filthy could they be!

But all they did was love each other

Yeah, people who whisper in disgust are diminishing as the generations move on. Thank God; homophobia, at this point, is outdated, but still around.

This is a pretty straightfoward poem. Although you generalize, it is presented as probably the best example of this phenomena. :)

ouch ouch ouch ouch ouch inisde i deeply cringe and want to run away. i honestly think it's something we learn to live with it, those whispers. still stings.
one of you better pieces. it's honest with strong voice and strong flow. the word's get across. you've created a very powerful piece.

Very nicely penned n o so true we fear the unknown as people n when things are out of the ordinary we hiss mutter n cast stones without just cause. for wether liked or not it's one's choice to be who they are n we as people should except anothers decision. to be them. there's to much hatred already towards the gay and lesbians not to mention others in this world. to add on to it is wrong.
