Ring Ring Ring Ring

Ring Ring Ring Ring

A Poem by Glee

Tik Tok Tik Tok
Six o’clock in the morning

Ding Dong Ding Dong
Alarm rings

Ring Ring Ring Ring
Phone rings

Wake up
Wake up

Pick up the phone

Go away
Can’t you see it’s early

Ring Ring Ring Ring

Not now
We’ll deal with that later

Ring Ring Ring Ring

Stop it
It’ll sort its self out later

Ring Ring Ring Ring

I’m that inner voice that comes when you’re sleeping
I’m that nagging tune at the back of your head
I come as a silent whisper
A strange reminder
A feeling
Yes
Just a feeling

Sometimes you’ll be too tired to listen
Other times you’ll be too lazy to take heed
But usually you’ll be too hopeful to pay attention

Just listen
Just listen
I’m here to help you live with yourself

Sometimes I’ll be persistent
Sometimes I’ll come and go
Sometimes you’ll shove me away
Brush me aside
Just a disturbance
A nagging at the back of your head
A tiny little voice
You usually brush aside

But if you do not listen
You will pay the price

There are many of us
The voices
We speak in many tongues
Some bring evil
Some bring good
But shall you tell the difference?
How can you know the distinction?
For my voice is
Honest
Sincere
Calm
Distinct

It brings hope
It brings peace
It brings love
It brings faith

You have to turn down the background noise
Take a moment
Stop the rush
Attune your senses
Our minds are speaking to us
Just stop and listen
Stop and listen
Then you will hear me

Can you hear me?

Ring Ring Ring Ring

I’m that inner voice that comes when you’re sleeping
I’m that nagging tune at the back of your head

Some will choose to listen
Others will choose to ignore me
But the inevitable can not be avoided
Once ignored it will bring turmoil
Mischief
Disaster

Don’t drink and drive
But shall they listen?

Don’t leave your candles on at night
But shall they listen?

Don’t leave your meds where your kids can reach them
But shall they listen?

It’s just a measure
Why not take the precaution
And avoid the commotion

Your ego takes control
You think you know it all
Accept you know nothing
Then you shall be wiser
Don’t leave any stone unturned
Then you shall be smarter

Listen
Just listen
Stop and listen

Reminds me of teenagers my age. :P Consciences suck sometimes. ;)

lol! Anyways, this was nicely written. It made perfect sense in my eyes, and I could definitely relate to what you're trying to say. It was an interesting way to start it off and an excellent way to end it. ^^
