Work a MiracleA Poem by Glee
You said you were powerful You could have anyone you wanted You could have anything you wanted All you had to do was lift a finger and they would dance Pull the strings and the puppets would awaken Strut your bat and they would flip Blow your magic dust and they would follow Cast your spell and they would sing So now I ask you Where is that seductive spirit? Bring out that divine prowess Let’s see that irresistible charm Bring out that indestructible magic Work a miracle Make me want you For this time I am immensely prepared I have got my mask on I am immune to your charms I am safe from your magic I have fought my battles I have faced my demons I have made my bed I have built my castles I have woven my nest And it’s warm and comfy It’s beautiful and shiny It’s so sweet and tasty I look at you and see cold steel When I see you I see dry lumber Hardened over time Cold and sore I can see straight through you now Not like in the old days How you had me then How could a puppeteer do without a puppet? Patenting the carpet Silencing the puppet Current tappet Latent droplets Hamlet comments Lament Torment Work a miracle Make me want you © 2009 Glee |
