Lies

Lies

A Poem by Glee

Lies
Buzzing like flies
They flourish in the ghettos

Like a blemish in the fabric
They swarm with infestation

Jumping like flees
They vie for the venerable

Voracious parasites
Venomous flukes
Sucking on the verve
Pushing to the nerve

Blazing with glitter
Writhing with vermin
Woven for the fools
But lies never flinch

But will they set their pants on fire,
And come to see the liar?

You got a penny in your pocket
You got a hollow in your wallet
You got a bug in your soup

You got a spider in your oven
You got a honey in your quarter

You got a quarter in your locker
You got a bunny in your stables
You got a rodent in your yard
You got a fleck in your eyeball
You got a blemish in your satin

On and on they go
Off and off they flow

Lies never flinch
Fools always flip

But would you be safe,
And come to see the glare?
Or be sorry,
And come to lick your sores,

As you tell your story?
