Miracles
A Poem by Glee
Miracles
The crowds are gathered
The tension is calm
The sermons are starting
The holy pastor screams
Come out you demon
Come out from this holy child
I cast you out of this holy child
In the name of Jesus Christ
I command you to leave now
In the name of the Holy spirit
I evoke you to surrender
She falls to the ground
She shakes violently
She screams out loud
Shes been taken over by the power of the spirit
Shes completely healed
Dear child
Give testimony to what you have seen
Give testimony to what you have experienced
Give testimony so that others can see, hear and believe
Give testimony to your holy miracle
I had a dumbness in my throat
But since I came I can now speak
I had a deafness in my ear
But since I came I can now hear
I had a cancer in my liver
But since I came I'm now healed
I had a brokenness in my leg
But since I came I can now walk
I had a blindness in my eye
But since I came I can now see
Now I believe in Jesus Christ
For he is my only savior
Praise the lord
Halleluiah
Thanks to him the blind can now see
The deaf can hear
The lame can walk
You have seen for yourselves
the power of the lord
You have heard the testimonies
Of the divine miracles
Whoever you are
wherever you are
Now you who is reading this
You can be saved
Just accept Jesus in your heart
Just accept Jesus in your life
And you can have a miracle in your life today

Luke 7:22
So he replied to the messengers, "Go back and report to John what you have seen and heard: The blind receive sight, the lame walk, those who have leprosy are cured, the deaf hear, the dead are raised, and the good news is preached to the poor.

Kind of preachy, but biblical stories always make great entertainment... whether it spawns excellent agreements or bad controversy.
As a writer, I admire all of the repititions you've written to the get the point across. It also has that mystical tone that pretty much works with the content. Very explicit, as well. ^^
As a liberal Catholic, I say it's too strong. Many readers, especially on Writer's Cafe, aren't crazy about straight-up rewrites of passages in the Bible. Half the time, it's better when such biblical passages like this are lightly displayed or referenced.
Personally [and perhaps, philosophically], this is more than just a story to me; it's my story, it's your story, it's our story. I was once told by a bishop that the stories in the Bible aren't just something we have to remember, they're stories that we all live. So, part of me really likes what you've got here. The liberal part of me can easily argue... but let's not go there. ;)
Excellent work you've got here. :)
