Is he there?

Who is the one you can always rely on
Who'll stand by you in thick and thin
Who'll bear your pain and comfort your sorrows
Who'll look through all your trials and temptations

And give you forgiveness
Give you life
Give you a second chance
Bring you joy

He is the one you strive only to be
For he is all knowing and all powerful
Overcomes all forces and barriers

How could anyone claim to know what he knows
How could anyone equal to him
How could anyone challenge his divine presence

He doesn't come to rule or judge
He doesn't come to pass punishment
All he wants is to keep us safe and sound
Comfort us in our sorrows
Be there when we need him
For our faith will be as strong as a rock

But is he real
Or is he a pigment of our imagination

Does he exist
Or is he a necessary creation of human need
Need that no human being or human pleasure can meet

Is he there
Or is he just another hologram
An entity whose value is in the symbolism
Rather than its active role

Wise men strive to answer with little success

Today has reached
Therefore the past had a beginning
God is the beginning

Things come from causes
Causes are caused by causes
Causes go back to the beginning
God is the first cause

Things move
Things are moved by other things
The first mover is God

The universe has order, purpose and regularity
The universe has a design
The designer is God

We must aim for the highest good
We need God to assist us
God must exist to assist us

At a time when everything is falling apart
Who do you turn to
The first uncaused cause
God

God doesn't need practical physical existence
He has necessary spiritual existence

We can prove no more God's existence than we can our own
