See the magnificent beauty of the mighty star
Standing from the rest it shines up above
Its radiance lights up the giant skys
But it ages through a time long journey
Having served its purpose it must come to pass
A life of a billion years has come to an end
But will it go quietly
For this breath will be its last
It happens but once in a million years
It happens millions of light years away
It lasts but a fraction of a second
But even from here it can still be seen
The star grows to infinite proportions
Forms a Black hole that sucks all inside
Ejects a burst of energy that stretches in space and time
Even from a million light years away you can still see it flash from the heavens
Exhaling energy a million times the power of our sun
Whirling all that surrounds it in its mammoth circle
Sucking everything from once within it
Then calmly fades melting away into the open space
The star is gone now for there is nothing left
How we will miss the life of the mighty star
But its nothing more than a matter of time
For once it will happen closer to our mother home
Never going quietly for we are caught in its field
All it would take is a matter of seconds
The rays would roast our skys to a ghastly red
The heat would dry up all the oceans and bring a rage of hurricanes
The waves would rinse our planet of any life that is left
Taking with it all that inhabits earth
Science fiction becoming science fact
For all it will take is a matter of time
There is nothing more worrying than the death of a star
For once it goes it will not go quietly
For once it vanishes it will not hide alone
But how we will miss the life of the mighty star
